I also saw a dead elephant .It is ''siyambalangamuwa elephant ''

That way  the time when I was Studying for grade seven  . As usual ,I woke up the morning and got ready to go to school . But ,I realized that there was something strange   in that day that I never seen before .I remember it raining very fast and the wind blew fast .However I went to school in heavy rain . I remember that we were engaged in religious  activities as usual and were engaged in learning activities .But there was no light in the environment that day . When we were in the school  for a while ,I saw the brothers and sisters talking about something  worried and sad .I remember a boy from our class came running fast .He said that ''siyambalangamuwa elephant is dead .'' All the classes  fell silent at once . When I heard that story ,I felt as if a friend had left .Because that elephant was so friendly to the people of the village . All the student  in the school wanted to see the ''siyambalangamuwa elephant ''

  

      

The dead body of the elephant was near the village temple . Our teachers took us to see our elephant I saw Asia's longest tusked elephant dead inside the biggest vehicle .There are tears in the eyes of the elephant .I still can't explain the feelings I felt then. People from the villages had come to see the elephant .All of us were able to go to near the elephant .Everyone did not forget to touch him .On the request of the villagers ,the elephant was cremated in our village .The village pries performed religious activities for the elephant .I also participated it .

After a long time our ''siyambalangamuwa elephant '' and ''dalaputtuwaa elephant ''have been restored .It is in our village ''Ath athuri sewana ''rest house . The sculptor  will be our school 's art teacher . There will never be a replica of that statue anywhere in sri lanka .
